Kimberly Guill Harries is a uniquely talented rider and trainer who credits her education to wonderful trainers such as Victor Hugo-Vidal, Mark Mullen, and Judy Lagerstrom, as well as the wide variety of horses that she has had the opportunity to ride, train, and show. Working in all aspects of the horse business, including grooming for top international rider Bernie Traurig and accompanying the Saudi Arabian Olympic team to Spruce Meadows, has given her an intimate knowledge of the hard work and dedication that it takes to succeed.

As a young rider without the financial support that most top junior riders have, Kim took every opportunity that would enable her to remain involved with riding and showing horses. From braiding at horse shows and grooming for other top riders, to mucking out stalls, it was clear from the beginning that her work ethic would pay off. This kind of dedication to the sport has provided Kim with a more versed education that many of today's trainers lack.

This obvious determination to succeed and to follow her dreams is what separates Kim and Southern Cross from the rest of the training programs in the business. Remaining closely connected with each horse and taking a hands-on approach to the day-to-day operations allows Kim to manage the barn smoothly. Her wide field of experience has given her the ability to relate to riders and owners of all levels and to act as an empathetic and confidence-building instructor, as well as an excellent horseman.
